In a tribute to the 103rd anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and to reinforce the outcomes of thematic education, the Energy Research Institute organized a commendation ceremony on July 1, 2024. The event celebrated the Party's founding day and recognized the achievements of exemplary CPC members and party workers for the year 2024. The aim was to inspire party member researchers to remain steadfast in their beliefs, diligently perform their duties, and strive for innovation and excellence. The ceremony also sought to bolster the creativity, unity, and strength of grassroots party organizations, highlighting the pivotal role of party branches and advanced individuals as exemplary leaders in the "Energy Pioneers, Innovation Leaders" party-building initiative. The ceremony was presided over by Meng Xiancai, the Party Branch Secretary of the First Research Department. In attendance were Deputy Director Tian Jia Shu, Senior Advisor Ren Xiaoshu of the Energy Institute, party branch secretaries, committee members, and all party members from the institute's branches.

The ceremony began with all Party members standing in a solemn atmosphere and singing the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. President Tian delivered festive greetings to the Party members of the Energy Research Institute and extended warm congratulations to the honored individuals. He stressed that all Party members should draw upon history to clarify their goals, remember their missions, remain loyal to the Party's cause, strictly adhere to Party discipline, excel in their duties, and foster technological advancement. President Tian called upon all Party members to stay true to their original aspirations and keep their missions firmly in mind. Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core, he urged them to steadfastly implement the new development concept, grasp the overall trend, seize the initiative, confront challenges head-on, and rise to meet them. He emphasized the need to accelerate scientific and technological innovation and continuously enhance independent innovation capabilities, providing robust scientific and technological support for building a leading global scientific and technological power and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Following the initial proceedings, the conference conducted a solemn oath-taking ceremony for new Party members. Facing the bright red Party flag, all Party members stood in a neat formation and raised their right fists in a show of unity. Led by Huang Zunyu, the Party branch secretary, they recited the solemn oath signifying their commitment to the Party. Cheng Yu addressed the gathering as a representative of the newly inducted Party members.

Teacher Ren announced the decision to commend this year's outstanding Party members and exemplary Party affairs workers. The individuals recognized as outstanding Party members are: Fang Mingliang, Jiao Jiao, He Mengting, Jiang Fengting, Zhu Renli, Liu Hankang, and Lin Qifu; while the exemplary Party affairs workers are: Xu Wei, Hua Yuting, and Zhang Xiufang. Teacher Ren described them as the loyal defenders of the Party, its vanguard, and exemplary models. They have made quiet yet significant contributions and have selflessly strived for the Party's cause. Through their concrete actions, they have embodied the Party's purpose and mission, fully showcasing the advanced nature and contemporary sense of responsibility of Communist Party members. President Tian and Teacher Ren personally presented award certificates to each of the outstanding Party members and exemplary Party affairs workers. Representatives of the outstanding Party members, Jiao Jiao and Liu Hankang, along with the representative of the exemplary Party affairs workers, Xu Wei, shared their experiences and insights from their lives and work as Party members. They collectively pledged to continue to fulfill their duties with even greater zeal and a stronger sense of responsibility, vowing to contribute their wisdom and strength to the development and progress of the Energy Research Institute.

The commendation conference concluded on a high note, enveloped in the spirited melody of "The Internationale."
