On February 19, the Energy Research Institute convened its 2024 strategic work retreat to meticulously plan the agenda for 2024 and the subsequent triennium. The retreat was graced by the presence of Academician Li Jiangang, the institute's Director, along with Deputy Directors Hu Haomin, Ding Lijian, and Tian Jiashu. The gathering included the institute's senior advisors, research center directors, department heads, and key experts.
During the retreat, leaders from each research center and administrative department engaged in profound dialogues regarding the institute's core development trajectory, objectives, strategic initiatives, and anticipated outcomes for 2024 and the coming three years, offering their insights and recommendations. The institute's leadership provided feedback in turn.
Academician Li underscored the importance of staying committed to the institute's founding vision, identifying areas for improvement, and setting ambitious benchmarks against leading institutions. He urged all staff to define clear objectives, capitalize on emerging opportunities, address weaknesses, and strive for swift advancement.
He further mandated that each research center and administrative department should promptly develop actionable and measurable work plans for 2024 and the next 3 to 5 years, complete with defined operational frameworks. This retreat successfully served to align perspectives, forge a collective consensus, articulate clear objectives, and bolster confidence as the institute moves forward.
