Introduction to the direction of solar cells

The development of solar cell materials with low cost, high efficiency and high stability is an important direction in the field of large-scale application of solar energy. The exploration of new photovoltaic materials has scientific significance and application value. In the specific research, defect control is an important method to reduce recombination and improve carrier transmission. The research will characterize the energy level and concentration of defects, and confirm the defect type in combination with theoretical calculation. Interface materials and interface engineering can improve the carrier transport at the interface, so as to promote the efficient energy conversion of light-absorbing materials. The research will use synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy to study the crystal structure and electronic structure of the surface interface of solar cell devices, and establish the influence law of surface and interface chemical structure, crystal structure and electronic structure on carrier transport and photoelectric conversion efficiency. In order to improve the light utilization of solar cells, the research will develop electrodes modified with luminescent materials for solar spectrum conversion to improve the utilization of ultraviolet and infrared light. Laminated solar cells are expected to achieve a photoelectric conversion efficiency of more than 40%. This research focuses on the development of light-absorbing materials for the cells on the top of broad-band gap, interface materials and interface optimization, and the preparation of translucent electrodes. The research will also develop in the preparation of large-area thin-film solar cells based on solution method and vapor deposition method including device design and laser cutting process, preparation of light absorption layer, chemical bath deposition, preparation of thermal steam generator and large-area monolithic integration, so as to realize the transformation of solar cell technology.
