On November 23, 2025, the National Finals of the 2025 National Simulation Innovation and Application Competition concluded successfully. The team composed of Ye Yang, Yang Lixiang, Tan Mingsheng, Zhong Fubin, and Qu Chengming from the Fusion Industry Application Research Center of the Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center (Anhui Provincial Energy Laboratory) won the National Second Prize with their entry titled “Simulation of High-Speed Plasma Fueling Trajectory in the EAST Tokamak of Nuclear Fusion Device”.

The entry focused on key issues in Compact Torus (CT) research. It constructed an interaction model between CT plasma and background magnetized plasma and applied it to EAST for the first time. The model systematically simulated the operational trajectory of CT plasma, quantified the influence weights of host control parameters on injection effectiveness, and identified the dominant factors. It fully revealed the movement trajectory and evolution laws of CT in EAST while integrating an intelligent optimization module to achieve precise anchoring of control parameters. The research results provide critical theoretical support and numerical simulation data for optimizing fueling schemes and designing core fueling devices for fusion reactors, and were unanimously recognized by the review experts.
