On March 1, the Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center held its 2026 strategic planning retreat for the “15th Five-Year Plan.”

The launch of the Fusion Medicine Concept and the 4th “Innovation in Medical Technology” Interdisciplinary Forum was held on the afternoon of January 16 at CAS Medical Valley in Luyang District, Hefei.

To promote independent R&D of key materials for nuclear fusion, the Institute of Energy has reached an agreement with China Tungsten & Hightech Materials Co., Ltd., a listed subsidiary of China Minmetals Group, to jointly establish the “High-Performance Tungsten Materials for Nuclear Fusion” Joint Laboratory.

On the morning of December 27, 2025, the China Nonferrous Metals Society organized an expert evaluation meeting in Baiyin, Gansu Province. After comprehensive review by the expert panel, the product was certified as reaching an internationally leading level.

To provide strong support for accelerating the autonomy, localization, and engineering application of core control system technologies for fusion reactors, the Institute of Energy has reached an agreement with SNPTC Automation Instrumentation Co., Ltd. to jointly establish the “Joint Research Center for Autonomous, Controllable and Intelligent Control Technology of Fusion Reactors”.

On December 4, 2025, the Institute of Energy and Shanghai Junhe Atomic Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the “Advanced Nuclear Energy System” Joint Laboratory.
